Syllabus
Description
This is an introductory class in creating digital images using Adobe PhotoshopCS3 as the primary tool for the digital manipulation of images. It is a class designed for photographers, photo-illustrators, graphic designers, web designers, artists, and animators. The emphasis in the class will be on learning Photoshop as a digital art tool and its place in multimedia, graphic design, web design and animation. You will be introduced to the basics of digital image capturing and editing tools.
This is a hands-on class. You are expected to supply your own photographic images, which you will input and manipulate digitally. Understanding file management is important since there will be no time scheduled for introductory lessons. This class will be taught through lectures, lab demonstrations, and feedback sessions/critiques. Two hours of lab time outside the scheduled class are required by arrangement each week. Please check the open studio schedule (2nd week of classes) for actual times. This schedule will be posted in lab and on the web. If you will be working at home you must turn in your recorded hours via the off campus lab form (on the class website).
